2106 is an alternative rock band from Eugene, OR. Their sound mixes influences from several genres, including Rush, Foo Fighters, Tool, and Paramore to name a few.
The name comes from a typo. When Cora (vocals), Josh (lead guitar), and Chris (drums) were in high school, they were all in Jazz Band/Choir classes together. Every year, the Jazz classes put on a show at the local theater called the “Rhythm & Blues Revue”, which served as a fundraiser for the music department. In addition to this show, their teacher, Mr. David Larsen, would make DVDs for the students with all of the performances on them as a gift. But back in 2016, he accidentally printed “2106” on every single disc.
About two years later, Alex was added to the band as a bassist, and the most recent addition on rhythm guitar is Avery.
